Drums
Frank, to a large extend self-taught, started playing drums on buckets and washing powder boxes at the age of 12, after having seen Golden Earring drummer Cesar Zuiderwijk perform in the 'When the lady smiles' videoclip.
In the early 90's Frank played in a drumband and in a Classic Orchestra as well as in a variety of rock bands over the last 4 decades.

Alain
Vocals & Guitar
Alain, aka 'Kurt Klang', started his musical career unexpectedly and in an improvised way as bass-player of the Punk formation X-Pulsion in October 1977. Between 1978 and 1982, Alain played with New Wave band Klang. The band won the Hitkrant Talent Contest in 1980 and scored hits with the singles 'Beat It', Wailing in the Moonlight' and 'Familiy Life'.
Alain returned as guitarist and singer-songwriter for Kap'tain HeroiK, roles which he now fullfills in Red Scalene.

Pieter
Lead Guitar & Keyboards
Pieter started playing the 6-string guitar at the age of...6, idolizing Slash from Guns 'n Roses. At the age of 13, Pieter started his fist band. Following stints with bands Lozt ID and NFA, Pieter was hired into Classic Rock band Out of Reaction. In 2015, Pieter joined A3 Beton, the energetic Partyband. During his 7 years with A3 Beton, Pieter gained extensive live experience, playing up to 90 shows per year. Following a 3 year break from life on the road, Pieter is now very much looking forward to bringing a new dynamic to Red Scalene.

Pieter

Attracted by the desire to perform, Pieter bought his first guitar at the age of 14. Pieter played in several bands, mainly cover bands (ao Side Car B and Dirty J). Currently, his main interest lies in the creative field, songwriting and transforming creations into stage proof material. Above all, as a natural-born entertainer Pieter loves the live interactions with the audience.

Bass Guitar
For over 20 years, Timothy Thora has built a reputation as a professional bassist known for his versatility and artistry. As a regular with the Rafaël Mertens Jazz Trio, the Peter Bovens Jazz Trio, and the indie electro-pop band Being Noble, he brings his distinctive style to a wide range of genres, including jazz, fusion, funk, bossa nova, and latin.
Timothy’s playing is shaped by the influence of bass players like Jeff Berlin, Ray Brown, and John Patitucci, while horn players such as Charlie Parker and John Coltrane inspire his melodic and improvisational approach. His professional career has seen him perform internationally at European festivals and jazz clubs, where he is celebrated for his precision, creativity, and ability to adapt to different musical contexts.
